A wedding cake is a traditional cake served at the reception of the couples wedding now days mostly following dinner, but wedding cake history shows this was not always the case. In some parts of England, the wedding cake is served in the morning as a wedding breakfast, either before the ceremony or after, and then later in the evening the couple celebrate their wedding at an official wedding reception.

Traditionally wedding cakes were made to bring good luck to the guests and newly married couple, however in modern times the wedding cake as progressed to be now much more and can be a major center piece of any wedding reception.
