3 Tier Wedding Cake…
Size: 11, 9 & 7 inch cakes.
Flavours: Vanilla sponge with Lemon Curd and Buttercream Frosting.
Summary: This cake was a delight to make, but did throw up its own challenges.
The base of the cake was covered with very think Buttercream and tilted lines made through the buttercream.
Top two tears were also covered but to provide a semi-naked appearance.
Pure gold leaf was then roughly scattered over the entire cake, which had a very dramatic effect.
The challenge with this cake was the number of fresh flowers, these were placed onto cake at the reception location.
Flowers were a mixture of Pink Roses, Blue Orchards and White Carnations, along with large amounts of green leaves.
The top tier was finished off with a custom made cake topper from Sandra Dillon Design
Overall a large cake, with a large number of flowers, but really was a pleasure to make and was just the perfect fit for our client’s wedding and reception location.
